What is online therapy?
Online therapy - commonly referred to as web-based therapy, telehealth, teletherapy or video therapy - is a psychotherapy service that is facilitated through the use of technology. It's fairly similar to Zoom or FaceTime, except your therapist uses a secure, encrypted web-based platform, with a ‘virtual office’ accessible only to you and your therapist.

Is online therapy comparable to in-office therapy?
Yes! You will receive the same care as you would coming to the office and we do the same therapeutic work. In fact, some individuals feel more at ease attending their sessions from the comfort of their home, making their sessions feel more engaging and enjoyable.
Studies show that video therapy is as effective as face-to-face therapy at an office and there are many benefits of attending online therapy vs. traditional in-person therapy. Click here to learn more about the potential benefits of online treatment.
While I love online therapy, that doesn't mean you have to. If you are looking for an in-person therapist to meet with at an office setting, I am not that person. However, there are plenty of other fantastic therapists that are willing to meet you in an office space.

What are the technological requirements for online therapy?
Online therapy is simple! All you need is an electronic device - phone, computer or tablet - with a built-in webcam, speakers and microphone, and high speed internet connection.
How do I access my online session?
Accessing your online session is easy! Just log in to your secure TheraPlatform account and click "Join Scheduled Session" to meet with me online.
You will be provided with more information regarding your account when you schedule an initial session.
Who can attend an online therapy session?
I welcome teens and adults to meet with me online - ages 11 and older.
My services are offered statewide, so anyone in Minnesota can see me virtually.
We will discuss whether online therapy is appropriate for you or your teen prior to scheduling a session.
