What happens during my first session?

Our first session is fifty minutes and I will begin to gather information about what brings you to Praus Guidance & Healing. We will discuss the guidance process and how we will work together throughout your journey of change.

How Much Does A Session Cost?

Initial Intake Session - $185

Follow-Up Session - $135

How long is each therapy session?

Each therapy session is fifty minutes.

You can attend sessions as little or often as you would like, however, clients make the most progress with consistent weekly sessions.

Do You Offer a Sliding Scale Fee?

Depending on your needs and financial resources, I can offer a sliding scale fee. Please contact me for further information.

Do You Take Insurance?

I am an out-of-pocket provider and I am not contracted with insurance companies. It may be possible for you to receive out-of-network reimbursement from your insurance carrier, and in that case, I will be happy to provide an invoice for you.

I can accept pre-tax health accounts on behalf of your provider.

Please verify the specific requirements for reimbursement with your insurance provider.

What are the benefits of private pay?

By paying privately/out-of-pocket for therapy, the duration, scope and flexibility of the healing process is dedicated to your individual needs and is bound by the highest degrees of privacy allowed by Minnesota state law. Private pay truly allows our work together to be private.

Private pay does not have restrictions set by insurance companies, which allows us to focus on the challenges at hand.

Your relationship with your therapist is the most important aspect of the therapeutic process and private pay allows you to find a therapist that is a really good fit for you.

Why Should I Choose Private Pay for My Child?

As a parent, you make important decisions for your child. When you use insurance to pay for your child's therapeutic services, you are making the choice to have one, or several, diagnoses on your child's permanent medical records. Children frequently change as they develop, and so does the presenting problem.

Private pay allows the therapist to focus on the client's day-to-day presenting problem instead of a diagnosis. This allows the best care for both you and your child throughout the therapeutic process.
